Old carved wooden box, hand-painted according to the traditions of the Toraja people, originally from Sulawesi in Indonesia.

Its geometric patterns in black, ochre, white, and blue hues are reminiscent of the symbolic decorations found in Torajan architecture and ritual objects. Traditionally, this type of object could serve as a ceremonial container, an offering box, or a repository for precious everyday items.

Entirely made of carved wood and patinated by time, this piece has a strong decorative presence and testifies to Indonesian artisanal know-how.
